The concept was applied back in Ancient Rome, where water supply was circulated in the walls of houses to cool them during the warm seasons.

Air conditioners are usually positioned high near the ceiling of the room. The air in front of the air conditioner will get more dense and cooler. The more dense air sinks while the less dense air rises. This cycle is repeated until the whole room is cooled.
I feel that this invention is wonderful because without it, many of us would have to put up with the heat in Singapore.
